Ha intatto il fascino di un palazzo abitato per cinque secoli dalla stessa famiglia e gli appartamenti, perfettamente conservati, rappresentano un esempio dei modi di abitare che si sono avvicendati nel tempo. Visitabile dal 1981, il percorso offre una testimonianza intatta della vita che si svolgeva, da quella pubblica a quella quotidiana, in un percorso che scopre i luoghi destinati alla rappresentanza come il salone e agli appartamenti del piano nobile, quelli più privati come la biblioteca, i salotti al piano terra, fino agli spazi domestici come le cucine, le cantine e i cortili con i pozzi e la vasca. I quasi duecento dipinti della collezione d’arte, in cui prevale la scuola bolognese con dipinti di Passerotti, Fontana, Cesi, Donnini, Beccadelli, e gli oggetti d’arte applicata, gli arredi, i ricordi di famiglia ed una raccolta di materiali demoetnoantropologici provenienti dalle aziende agricole dei conti, dialogano tra loro in un contesto sostanzialmente integro. Ci tramandanola storia e le vicende famigliari, il mutare nei secoli delle mode e del gusto collezionistico che determinarono le diverse scelte architettoniche e di arredo.

The Tozzoni’s house museum opened on 1981 and still retains the charm of a house inhabited by the same family for five centuries. Its perfectly conserved flats are a rare document of the ways of living over the time. The visit offers an untouched testimony of Earls’ public and private life that here took place. You can visit the representation rooms as the Grand hall and the apartments on the first floor, the dining room, the library, the yellow lounge on the ground floor. There are also domestic spaces that tell about the daily life in the Palace: you can see furnished kitchens and cellars and finally the courtyards with wells and the big tank. The nearly two hundred paintings from the art collection (pictures of Passerotti, Fontana, Cesi, Donnini, Beccadelli, Viani, Stern, etc.) are displayed among the objects of applied art, furniture, family memories. In the cellars there is a demoethnoanthropology collection made up of objects, tools and machineries that had come from the estates and farms of the Earls. Everything talks about the tastes and the stories of the family that characterized the architectural and furniture choices that changed the Palace over the centuries.
